School Supply List for 6th Grade

Teachers will review the list of requested supplies with students on the first day of school. It is recommended that people hold off purchasing supplies until the first class meeting, but for those who wish to take advantage of summer sales, etc., please read the supply list carefully and when in doubt, wait for clarification.

  • 3” D-ring or 3-ring binder. Some brands use the measurement of the spine of the binder, and some use the measurement of the rings inside. We’re looking for a binder that is approximately 3” across the spine and has a ring diameter (or D-ring height) of 2 ¾”. It is highly preferable that these not be the kind that have padding, zippers, snaps, etc.
  • 6 tabbed dividers
  • Supply of loose-leaf college ruled lined paper. We’ll only need 25 to 50 sheets of paper in the binder at any given time, but we’ll be using at least 2 or 3 packs (150 count) by the end of the year, so buy it now while it’s on sale!
  • Separate supply box or supply pouch that can fit in your binder
  • 1 two-pocket folder. This must be fairly rigid, preferably made from glossy card stock. Tape must also stick to it, so please avoid textured plastic folders.
  • Pencils (if wooden, minimum of 5 sharpened pencils; if mechanical, minimum of three plus supply of lead).
  • Pencil sharpener with cover (not necessary if you have mechanical pencils)
  • 2 blue or black pens
  • 2 other pens of different color (green, red, purple, etc.)
  • 12” ruler, not made of bendable rubber, with standard and metric measurements.
  • Colored pencils
  • Fine-tipped marker pens (8 to 16 colors)
  • 2 different colored highlighters
